Fresh dog food is made from whole, human-grade ingredients — real meat, vegetables, and grains — that are gently cooked and delivered without preservatives. Unlike kibble, which is ultra-processed at high temperatures, fresh dog food retains more nutrients, natural moisture, and bioavailable protein. Studies show dogs fed fresh food have improved digestion, shinier coats, and increased energy levels.
Fresh dog food provides higher bioavailability of nutrients compared to kibble. Because fresh food is gently cooked at lower temperatures, proteins and vitamins are better preserved. Dogs eating fresh food typically show 30-40% improved digestibility, reduced stool volume, healthier skin and coat, and better hydration due to the natural moisture content of approximately 60-70%.
Something Doggy recipes are formulated for all life stages, from puppies to senior dogs. The soft-cooked texture is gentle on developing teeth and aging gums. Single-protein dog food uses only one animal protein source per recipe (e.g., chicken only, or salmon only). This is important for dogs with food sensitivities or allergies, as it makes it easy to identify and eliminate triggers. It also simplifies dietary rotation — you can switch between proteins to provide variety without mixing multiple meat sources that may cause digestive upset.
The general guideline is 2-3% of your dog's ideal body weight per day. A 5kg dog needs roughly 100-150g daily, while a 20kg dog needs 400-600g. Active dogs and puppies may need more, while less active or senior dogs may need less.
